We’re proud to partner with the International Association for Human Values (IAHV) for FLY GREENER and for COP30.
While world leaders debate climate finance, 2 young Delegates from IAHV (UK) are showcasing solutions already working on the ground: a verified programme that removes carbon at scale, while simultaneously lifting subsistence farming families out of extreme poverty. All for just £20.
FLY GREENER: Proof Climate Action Can End Poverty
FLY GREENER challenges the traditional trade-offs in climate finance. We plant fruit trees. For a £20 donation - including match funding - FLY GREENER plants 50 trees, half fruit trees, in Madagascar. The trees remove 1 tonne of CO₂ annually for 30+ years, verified under a Carbon Credit contract by Vivo Carbon.
But the impact extends far beyond carbon removal. Over 30 years, those same trees generate around £600 worth of fruit for local subsistence farmers - a 30-fold return on the original donation - that provides sustained food security and income.
"Many carbon projects either fail to ensure tree survival or provide minimal benefit to local communities," says Charles Appleby, FLY GREENER Co-Founder. "We've proven you can do both: remove carbon at extraordinary cost-effectiveness while genuinely transforming lives. This isn't just climate action; it's a regenerative investment in communities. This is climate action AND regenerative investment in communities."
Beyond Carbon: Mental Resilience and Disaster Response
IAHV's delegation to COP30 is also highlighting two related scalable solutions:
Youth Leadership and Mental Resilience Programmes. With climate anxiety affecting young people globally, IAHV's Youth Leadership Training Programmes (YLTP) have equipped thousands of young people worldwide with mental resilience, leadership skills, and capacity to drive community-level climate action.
Proven Trauma Relief for Climate Disasters. As climate disasters intensify, IAHV's breathing-based trauma relief programmes, delivered by trained local volunteers, have provided proven trauma and stress relief following disasters including the 2023 Turkey earthquake, Chennai floods, Nepal earthquake, and Punjab floods.
A Call for Partnership at Scale
At COP30, IAHV is calling on the WHO, Commonwealth organisations, Development Banks, Climate Funds, and regional NGOs to partner in scaling these proven solutions globally.
"We're not here to talk about what might work in 2050," says Delegate Muskaan Banatwalla. "We're here to scale what's working now. Our programmes are operational in South Africa, Kenya, and Madagascar, with infrastructure ready to expand. The question for decision-makers is simple: will you direct resources to proven solutions that deliver immediate, verifiable impact?"
